Livingstone Highland Curlies

We are located on Grand Island in the Sacramento Delta region. We have purchased 87 acres of flat, irrigated farm land where we still hope to breed a few curlies a year and sell hay.

Livingstone Highland Curlies has been one of the largest breeders of quality curly horses in California in past years. Our herd consists of both domestically raised and mustang curlies that we adopted through the BLM program.

We enjoy the diversity of the curlies and decided we wanted to be able to produce something for everyone. We ended up with three stallions and breeding programs divided by size and body type. We also enjoy all the different colors that horses can come in and have tried to add as many horses of color to our herd as possible. We still currently own 20+ curlies, as we decided to cut the herd to our favorites and focus special attention on them, however, we are considering adding a Fell Pony stallion to our ranch to cross with our curly pony mares.

The poster boy for our operation is our number one stallion BNC Thumper ABC P-1784(F). He is a beautiful 15.2 hand golden palomino. Thumper did produce a palomino colt for us in 2002 that looks very much like dad with just a little bit more chrome and gave us a beautiful sooty palomino filly in 2003.

Livingstone Highland Curlies will not be expecting any foals for 2008, but we are now planning our breedings for 2009. We can do custom breedings for those who are interested. Feel free to give us a call at 916-968-0339 or email dmmlivingstone@yahoo.com
